The Benue State All Progressives Congresses, or APC, have disassociated themselves from the actions of the party’s alleged local government and ward congresses.

According to the APC, news of alleged Ward and Local Government Congresses held by some unidentified individuals in certain Benue State LGAs caught the party’s attention under Austin Agada’s leadership.

Mr. Daniel Ihomun, the party’s state press secretary, made this announcement on Monday.

According to him, no Local Government Chapter has been given permission by the party’s State Leadership to hold Congresses at this time.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all official party activities, including the conduct of Congresses, are strictly directed and supervised by the National Secretariat of our great party.

“Any exercise carried out outside this established framework is illegal, null, and void and will not be recognized by the party.

“The APC remains a disciplined and law-abiding party that operates within the provisions of its Constitution and established guidelines.”

Mr. Ihomun issued a warning to all party members in every local government in the state to refrain from taking part in the purported charade being put on by a few self-serving persons.

Any member who is discovered participating in or advocating the illegal process faces harsh disciplinary measures, including as suspension or expulsion from the party, he continued.

“We urge all party faithful in Benue State to remain calm and await official communication from the National Secretariat regarding legitimate party Congresses.

“The APC is committed to due process and ensuring that all exercises conducted within the party adhere to the principles of transparency, fairness, and legality.

“For further clarification, members should refer to official communications from the Party and disregard any unauthorized directives from any other quarters.”He said.
