Benue Speaker Aondona Dajoh resigns, states reason

Aondona Dajoh has stepped down as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

In a handwritten resignation letter dated August 24, 2025, which he posted on his Facebook page with the caption “Let there be peace,” Dajoh confirmed his decision to relinquish the role, describing it as one made “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”

He expressed gratitude to fellow lawmakers for the opportunity to serve as “the first among equals” and affirmed his continued commitment to legislative responsibilities and to representing the people of Gboko West State Constituency.
