Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has credited President Bola Tinubu for all his accomplishments during his first year in office.
Alia disclosed this information on Friday during his thank-you tour to the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency.
The politician, once a priest, claimed that President Tinubu was responsible for all the accomplishments he listed.
He said that the President’s backing made it feasible to build roads, build an underpass, pay salaries, pensions, and gratuities, as well as reconstruct the Assembly Complex and State Secretariat.
Furthermore, Alia claimed that the President had shown him unfathomable support and asked the people of the state to exercise patience with him because the President had “very good intentions for the citizenry.”
Additionally, he pledged to bring Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) Square in Makurdi up to par with international standards.
He claimed that the almost thirty-year-old square’s amenities, built during the military era, were dilapidated and in dire need of repair.
Gov. Alia also revealed that salary and pension payments would henceforth begin on the 22nd of each month.
