Veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar has passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai, India.
Dr. Santosh Shetty from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where Kumar was receiving treatment, confirmed the news of his death. According to Dr. Shetty, the cause of death was “age-related health issues.”
Kumar’s son, Kunal Goswami, also confirmed the actor’s passing to the ANI news agency, mentioning that the legendary actor had been dealing with health complications.
Known for his patriotic roles, Kumar rose to fame during the 1960s and 1970s, starring in iconic films such as Shaheed, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, and Kranti.
Born Harikrishan Goswami in Punjab in 1937, Kumar’s significant contributions to Indian cinema earned him the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the country’s highest honor in film.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the late actor on X, calling him an “icon of Indian cinema.”
