Nigerian comedian and content creator, Brain Jotter, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran highlife musician, Mike ‘Gentleman’ Ejeagha.
The iconic artist, widely recognized for his classic hit ‘Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo’, passed away on Friday night after battling prostate cancer.
In response to the news, Brain Jotter posted a tribute on Instagram on Saturday, where he shared a video from his visit to the late musician in Enugu in 2024.
Captioning the post, Brain Jotter said, “39years ago, he made magic (Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo song). 39years later, we danced to it again. Now, he rests, but his melody lives forever. Rest in peace, legend”.
Ejeagha’s 1983 track gained renewed popularity nationwide after Brain Jotter featured the song in a viral dance challenge last year.
Following the success of the challenge—which racked up over 29.1 million views and more than 30,000 comments on Instagram, as well as over 19.6 million views on TikTok—Brain Jotter personally visited Ejeagha and presented him with a N2 million cash gift.
