“Dear Comrades, this is to request all members to abstain from lectures and statutory meetings if our salary for the month of June 2025 is not paid by 11:59pm today, 3rd July 2025,” Molwus stated. He cited the union’s NEC resolution, which mandates branches to take action when salaries are not paid by the 3rd day of a new month
The strike, which takes effect from 12:01am on Friday, 4th July 2025, will continue until further notice. Molwus urged members to ensure full compliance, saying, “The strike monitoring team of the branch will be activated to monitor compliance.”

The ASUU branch had previously resolved on June 4, 2025, to take action if salaries were not paid on time. With the June salary still unpaid, the union has been left with no choice but to direct its members to embark on strike action.
