On Monday, the Ukrainian government declared that a coup attempt had been prevented in the country.

On Sunday, the nation celebrates Constitution Day, an unknown organisation allegedly sought to organise “provocations” in Kiev, according to the Sluzhba Bezpeky Ukrayiny (SBU) intelligence service and prosecutors.

According to an unidentified report, the coup intended to install a “provisional government” and occupy parliament while protesting.

Four males who were detained are currently being probed by the SBU for guns and ammunition that were found during the course of the action.

If proven guilty, the suspects may spend a minimum of 10 years behind bars.

The authorities in the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankovsk are in charge of the probe

The Kiev government area has become a security zone, with limited entry and restricted demonstration rights.

The authorities frequently announce the arrests of informants and pro-Russian activists.
