The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday announced that candidates seeking admission into Education programmes and Agriculture-related non-engineering courses will no longer be required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

JAMB made the announcement in a post on its X handle during its ongoing policy meeting on 2026 admissions.

“Candidates seeking admissions into Education Programmes and Agriculture non-Engineering Courses are now exempted from UTME,” the board wrote on X.

The development comes shortly after the Federal Government of Nigeria announced the removal of UTME as a requirement for admission into Colleges of Education.

The federal government stated that candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education programmes will no longer be required to sit for UTME.
