Authorities have confirmed that five individuals have been shot following a shooting incident that occurred at Campus Risbergska school in Örebro, central Sweden, on Tuesday afternoon, leaving five individuals injured.

The incident took place before 1 pm local time, prompting officials to instruct residents to avoid the area. 

Nearby schools, including Karlslundsskolan and Praktiska gymnasiet, have secured their premises by locking doors and housing all students indoors under police guidance.

“We urge everyone to stay away from the vicinity of Västhaga, remain indoors, or move in the opposite direction,” police warned in a statement issued at 1:20 pm.

The police operation is ongoing, and authorities have confirmed that five people were shot. However, details regarding their conditions have not been disclosed.

Police also announced plans to establish an information point for concerned family members and the public. 

Authorities have urged everyone to refrain from approaching the school or nearby hospitals for the time being.
