The Iranian state-affiliated Defa Press reported on Wednesday that, as per a March 11, 2026, report from The Jerusalem Post, Brig.-Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, a spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, called on Muslims and regional governments to reveal the locations of U.S. and Israeli military bases so that Tehran could carry out more accurate strikes.

Shekarchi stressed that this appeal aimed to safeguard civilians residing in the impacted regions as well.

“I call on the Muslim people of the region and the countries of the region to show us the hideouts of US and Zionist forces so that they themselves will not be harmed, and so that we can strike them more precisely,” Shekarchi said.

He additionally charged that the US and Israel endangered local populations, referring to them as “human shields” meant to protect military actions from retaliation.

“In this way, the people of the region will be safe from the crushing blows of our armed forces, and we can also free these people from the United States and Israel,” Shekarchi added.

The call arrives in the context of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Tehran signaling time and again that it is prepared to react to threats it perceives as directed at its interests and allies. The Iranian armed forces have often characterized their operations as protective in nature, while claiming that outside forces pose a threat to the people of the region.

Analysts observe that Shekarchi’s statement aims to depict Iran’s potential strikes as precise actions rather than random attacks, while also trying to garner regional support and collaboration.
