These include a ₦50 million monthly standing order for staff welfare support and the release of ₦146 million for payment of withheld salaries and Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) allowances. Additionally, the governor has approved the retention of a percentage of internally generated revenue (IGR) by the university to enhance financial autonomy.

Musa praised the Governor’s efforts, stating, “These measures are not only bold but unprecedented in the recent history of the university. The management commends His Excellency for his extraordinary sensitivity to the plight of students, the condition of education, and the welfare of academic and non-academic staff.

The VC also highlighted the government’s commitment to dialogue, noting that a high-level negotiation team, chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, has been constituted to address outstanding issues. Musa commended Sani for demonstrating “deep sensitivity to the long-standing challenges faced by university staff—many of which date back over a decade and were inherited from previous administrations.”

The VC called on stakeholders to support the effort, saying, “Together, we can return Kaduna State University to its rightful place as a centre of learning, progress, and hope.
