Esther Akwaji, a 27-year-old woman, is reported to have collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances.

Reports indicate that the deceased passed away while having a meal at her boyfriend’s home in Dei-Dei, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

SaharaReporters states that the boyfriend of the deceased fled shortly after her demise, and his identity remains unknown.

It was reported by sources that Esther, residing in Nasarawa State, had journeyed to the FCT to see relatives.

According to reports, she departed from her family residence on January 21, stating that she was going to a bank in Dei-Dei, but she did not come back.

It was reported that family members received a phone call hours later from a man who claimed to be Esther’s boyfriend, using her mobile device.

The source states that the man told the family that Esther had come to see him and that he had bought food for them to eat.

It was claimed by the boyfriend that during their meal, Esther had a sudden bout of vomiting. He asserted that he hurried her to Kubwa General Hospital, where medical staff verified that she was dead upon arrival.

The man reportedly fled the hospital shortly after doctors pronounced her dead and has been unreachable since the incident.

Meanwhile, while confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, told SaharaReporters that the Command had begun a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Esther’s death.

“The corpse has been deposited for autopsy to determine the actual cause of death, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect,” Adeh said.
