The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a new directive mandating that passengers must fully power down their mobile devices during both take-off and landing phases of a flight.
This update was shared on Tuesday via a post on X by Michael Achimugu, who serves as the director of public affairs and consumer protection for the NCAA. He stated that guidelines concerning the use of mobile phones and other electronic equipment aboard aircraft in Nigeria have now been standardized.
The instruction comes after an emergency session held earlier the same day with key players in the aviation sector.
Additional information is expected to follow.
