BREAKING: New Acting Registrar Unveiled at UniAbuja

The University of Abuja has appointed Roseline Adakayi as the acting registrar of the institution for a period of six months, effective May 12, 2025. This appointment was announced in a statement signed by the acting vice-chancellor, Professor Patricia Lar.

According to Dr. Habib Yakoob, Acting Director of Information and University Relations, the appointment was approved by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Olanrewaju Tejuoso.

Professor Lar congratulated Adakayi on her appointment, saying, “I congratulate Mrs. Adakayi on her appointment as acting registrar and secretary to council. She will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the university. I am hopeful that with her wealth of experience as an administrator, she will serve the university well.

Lar also thanked the outgoing acting registrar, Islamiya Foyeke Abdulraheem, for her successful tenure, stating, “Let me also thank Mrs. Islamiya Abdulraheem for successfully ending her six-month tenure today as acting registrar. It has been nice working with her.”

Roseline Adakayi has a long history with the University of Abuja, joining the institution as an administrative officer in 1999 and rising through the ranks to become deputy registrar in 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Jos, a Professional Diploma in Land Surveying, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Photogrammetry
