The High Court in Lagos, located in Ikeja, has declared that the dismissal of Mudashiru Obasa from his position as Speaker of the State House of Assembly was unlawful, went against the constitution, and holds no legal weight.
In its ruling on Wednesday, the court also invalidated all activities and decisions made by the Assembly on January 13, 2025 — the day Obasa was removed from office.
Obasa had taken legal action against both the House of Assembly and the newly installed Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, questioning the legitimacy of his removal.
