As the #EndBadGovernance demonstration moves into its third day, men of the Nigeria Police Force, or NPF, are reported to have shot and killed a little child in the Kubwa region of the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT.
It was reported that the youngster was shot dead at close range in the vicinity of Kubwa’s Zenith Bank.
The dead was not a participant in the protest, according to an eyewitness who testified after the boy was shot.
“The boy was not part of the protesters, he was coming on his own after the police had pointed gun at us from a different position,” the eyewitness said.
Deji Adeyanju, an activist lawyer, called the incident an unprovoked murder.
According to Adeyanju, the boy was shot dead while merely observing the protesters.
In a message sent to ZINGTIE, Adeyanju said: “IGP Kayode Egbetokun and his bloodthirsty men should come and eat the meat of this innocent young guy shot on the neck on close range at Kubwa by Zenith Bank.
“Clearly this is unprovoked murder as the boy was just sight-seeing the protesters of #Endbadgovanance# before this ugly end.”
However, as Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police, has not yet responded to messages given to her, attempts to get confirmation of the occurrence from her proved unsuccessful.
