Bibiani in the Western North Region of Ghana – Three individuals have lost their lives in a shocking event in Subrinkwanta, located within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, after a 23-year-old palm wine tapper reportedly torched his girlfriend’s family residence.
Following the catastrophic arson assault, local law enforcement apprehended the suspect, Prince Numatekpor Kwaku, who is widely known as On God.
The tragic fire took the lives of three people: Felicia Kudjo, a 19-year-old Queen Senior High School student and the suspect’s girlfriend; her mother, Maame Mary Oppong, aged 61; and 22-year-old Dora Adoma Kudjo, a relative.
As stated by Madam Paulina, a family member of the victims, she was at work in Obuasi when she received a distress call informing her that Kwaku had come to the family home looking for Felicia.
Due to their disapproval of the relationship, citing Felicia’s status as a student, the family had previously warned him to keep his distance.
According to reports, the suspect, who professed his love for Felicia, issued a threat to set the house ablaze if they rejected his marriage proposal. Sadly, the alleged threat was executed, leading to the deaths of the three occupants.
Authorities have taken Prince Numatekpor Kwaku into custody, and inquiries are in progress to determine all details related to the event.
Police spokespersons have assured the public of the utmost seriousness in handling the matter, stressing their commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
