This year, President Bola Tinubu will not be present in New York for the 79th United Nations General Assembly session.
Vice President Kashim Shettima has been instructed by the President to head Nigeria’s delegation.
After visiting China and the United Kingdom, President Tinubu returned to the nation on Sunday. He wants to solve some of the country’s problems and concentrate on home matters, particularly in light of the recent terrible flooding.
Vice President Shettima will attend significant side events, conduct bilateral meetings, and present Nigeria’s official message to the General Assembly at UNGA 79.
The high-level General Debate, with the theme “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations,” will run from Tuesday, September 24, through Saturday, September 28, 2024.
