A senior lecturer in the Faculty of Management, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student of the institution.

The university management confirmed the allegation yesterday, saying investigations had commenced and that the affected student was receiving support.

It was gathered that the 300-level student (name withheld) alleged that the lecturer invited her into his office on August 22, 2025, at about 12:00 noon, where he allegedly forced himself on her. The student reportedly filed a complaint with the police on August 28, 2025, and was later taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

UNILAG’s spokesperson, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, confirmed the case, noting that the university had set up a panel to investigate the matter. “Yes, the university is aware of the allegation, and the police are already involved. A panel constituted by the university has commenced investigation, and its findings will be made public through the appropriate channels upon completion,” she said.

Alaga-Ibraheem further assured the public of the institution’s commitment to transparency and justice. “The university will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for all parties involved,” she stated.

Reiterating UNILAG’s stance on harassment, she added: “The university has zero tolerance for all forms of sexual harassment. We encourage students and other members of our community to report any form of harassment or misconduct through the designated offices in the institution. The university will certainly take appropriate action on such reports.
