Blogger Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed how he obtained a contentious phone recording of Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a transvestite.
He revealed this information on Monday when he appeared before a House of Representatives subcommittee looking into claims of bribery concerning the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a same vein, staff members of the NCoS and EFCC were introduced as the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions began looking into claims made by the blogger regarding bribery and corruption against the prison service and the anti-graft agency.
When Bobrisky, who was also invited, wasn’t present, VeryDarkMan first declined to speak to the committee and sent a lawyer in his place. But the lawmakers disagreed with his explanation and made a motion requiring him to speak about the topic of the voice tape that he had disclosed.
The committee threatened to use its legislative authority to order VeryDarkMan’s immediate arrest, but he insisted that his attorney would speak in his place.
The blogger verified the legitimacy of the viral audio file by stating that Bobrisky had got it from a debtor.
In a widely shared video, VeryDarkMan claimed that Bobrisky had given N15 million to the anti-graft agency to get the money laundering allegations against him dropped during his April naira spraying incident. Following this, a court had sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison.
Additionally, he said that Bobrisky spent millions of naira to get a choice place in prison.
