British rapper Oakley Neil Caesar-Su, known as Central Cee, has announced his conversion to Islam.
The Band 4 Band singer disclosed that he has shared his name as a result.
During a recent livestream, the rapper revealed this.
“I just changed my name and took my shahada, I am a muslim now,” he revealed, with his friends congratulating him in the video.
Prior to his most recent disclosure, Central Cee had not explicitly stated a formal religion.
Born on June 4, 1998, in London, Central Cee has an English mother and a father with Guyanese and Chinese heritage.
When he was seven, his parents split up. In Shepherd’s Bush, he was raised by his mom together with his two younger siblings.
In 2014, Central Cee launched his music career by appearing on a now-removed episode of the Fire in the Streets series.
He made his first song appearance in January 2015 on the Ain’t On Nuttin Remix, featuring J Hus and others.
On June 14, 2020, he launched his breakout single “Day in the Life.”
Central Cee has achieved superstar status in the UK drill music scene since his debut.
