Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his residence in Kaduna State after spending almost two years in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
It has been reported that since Buhari left Aso Rock in May 2023, he has led a quiet life in Daura.
Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s former aide, confirmed the return to Kaduna via a post on his official Facebook page. He mentioned that the former president stayed away from active political discussions while in Daura, focusing on personal matters instead.
Buhari was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and several prominent figures, including Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
Additionally, the delegation included both current and former Deputy Governors of Katsina State, a former Inspector General of Police, former ministers, and several of Buhari’s personal aides.
It is also worth noting that the former president previously shared that he had rented out one of his two houses in Kaduna State.
