After being sidelined for about two months, Victor Boniface expressed his happiness at being able to play again.

Last November, while on international duty, Boniface suffered a thigh injury.

Against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday, the 24-year-old scored in his first Bayer Leverkusen match since he recovered from the injury.

In the fifteenth minute of the match, the Nigerian international gave Die Werkself the lead.

Following the break, Patrick Schick took Boniface’s place.

After scoring a goal for the team again, he expressed his happiness.

“I feel happy, I feel great. It has been a long time since I’ve been out, I think almost two months, so to be back and playing games is really good for me,” Boniface told the club’s official website.

“It feels good to score, not just as a striker but in general, as a team to score an early goal against a top team like this. It really helps build confidence, and you can see that after the goal, the team gained more confidence to score more.”

Boniface has so far registered seven goals in 11 league appearances for Leverkusen this season.
