Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has now set a new record as the African act with the highest number of appearances on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

His latest achievement comes from his collaboration with American rapper Gunna on the track WGFT, featured on Gunna’s new project The Last Wun. The song debuted at number 96 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, pushing Burna Boy’s total entries on the chart to seven.

With this milestone, the Last Last crooner has also become the first African artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in five consecutive years from 2021 through 2025.

Burna Boy’s journey on the Hot 100 began in 2021 with Loved By You, a duet with Canadian superstar Justin Bieber. He scored his first solo Billboard hit in 2022 with Last Last, which climbed to number 44.

Beyond the US, Burna Boy has also made his mark in other major markets. He holds the record for the most appearances by an African artist on both the UK Singles Chart (26 entries) and the Canadian Hot 100 (11 entries).
