The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced a new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered registration portal as part of its transformative initiative to enhance business registration in Nigeria. “The AI system is intelligently built to suggest alternatives for selection and immediate approval,” Magaji said. “Other features introduced are allowing business registration with only NIN for a director or proprietor.” The target time for business registration is now 30 minutes, with certificates generated and delivered to customers’ emails in real-time

The new portal also includes a contingency solution using AI-powered photo ID matching to address potential delays due to external validation from NIMC. Additionally, the Commission is working on partnership with super agents, including the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).

“We will soon provide Authentication and OTP Verification for all transactions, to ensure no changes are made to any company record without the full knowledge and consent of the registered directors,” Magaji added. A CAC Mobile App will also be launched by the last quarter of this year to facilitate seamless transactions and tracking.

However, Magaji announced that there will be an upward review of service fees effective August 1, 2025, to maintain quality service delivery and implement vital reforms. “This is to maintain quality service delivery and the implementation of some vital reforms in the Commission,” he said
