General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, has extended his sympathies to the families and loved ones of those affected by Saturday’s explosion at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) facility in Kaduna. He also offered his well wishes to those injured, hoping for their swift recovery.

It was earlier reported that the blast resulted in the death of one individual, while multiple others were wounded.

The explosion, which occurred on Saturday, was reportedly felt across parts of Kaduna city and nearby areas, causing temporary alarm before authorities confirmed it had come from the DICON premises.

In an official statement released by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, who serves as the Director of Defence Information, the Defence Headquarters reassured the public that the situation had been contained and there was no reason for alarm.

General Musa also stressed that DICON adheres to high safety protocols during its operations. He announced that a thorough investigation would be carried out to determine the exact cause of the incident and to help prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Additionally, he noted that steps have been taken to secure the facility and its surroundings, and residents in nearby communities have been assured of their safety.
