Champions League: Why Haaland struggles to score against Real Madrid – Guardiola

ManchesHaaland’smanager Pep Guardiola has explained Erling Haaland’s inability to score against Real Madrid.

Haaland failed to score in two legs against the La Liga giants last season.

The 23-year-old was restrained by Aurelio Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger earlier this week during the first leg of their quarterfinal match, which ended in a 3-3 draw for both clubs.

Guardiola has now claimed that the two players who accompanied Haaland did an excellent job of it.

He said: “We scored three goals at the Bernabéu. He had two central defenders near him.

“Haaland is a young player, he has margins to improve, but it’s more about the team than him to get better.”
