Authorities in the United States have apprehended a suspect in connection with the deadly shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

According to NBC News, which cited five senior law enforcement sources, the individual in custody has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah.

Kirk was reportedly shot in the neck and killed on Tuesday while participating in a debate at Utah Valley University.

Investigators revealed that the assailant fired a single shot from an elevated position, describing the incident as a deliberate assassination.

Confirming the development, U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News that law enforcement acted “with a high degree of certainty” in arresting Robinson.

Trump also commended the coordinated efforts of state and local authorities who were involved in the swift investigation and arrest.
