The Roberts Children’s Health Tower, named in recognition of the family’s generosity, will feature cutting-edge facilities, including more than 30 procedure and imaging rooms for cardiology, neurology, and other specialities. Additional amenities will include automated medication delivery, over 700 fully private rooms, and family amenities suites.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the tower will revolutionise the hospital experience for patients and their families. CHOP president and CEO Madeline Bell expressed her gratitude for the Roberts family’s gift, stating, “At CHOP, we’re focused on finding answers to the toughest medical challenges so that every child has the chance for a healthier future. We wanted to create a space that could accommodate the needs of children now and for years to come.”

Bell emphasised the impact of the Roberts Children’s Health tower, saying, “Roberts Children’s Health will greatly enhance the hospital experience for our patients and their families, equip our staff with the latest innovations, and revolutionise how we provide care, all while continuing our long legacy of breakthroughs.

The Roberts family has a long history of supporting CHOP, having contributed $25 million in 2016 to establish the Roberts Centre for Paediatric Research and the Roberts Collaborative for Genetics and Individualised Medicine. Brian Roberts, chair and CEO of Comcast, and Aileen Roberts, a member of the CHOP board, have demonstrated their commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare through their philanthropic efforts
