Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has shared that he will approach this year’s FIFA Club World Cup with a renewed perspective.
The Herons are set to open their campaign at Hard Rock Stadium, where they’ll face Egyptian club Al Ahly.
Messi, who has taken part in the tournament during his time at Barcelona, reflected on the experience.
But he said: “It’s a beautiful tournament. It’s exciting to be here, to play in it.
“But it’s with a different mindset than when I played it with other teams.
“Still, I’m full of energy and hope, looking forward to competing against the best and performing well.”
He also emphasized the significance of this year’s edition, which will feature 32 teams for the first time in its history.
This marks Messi’s fourth appearance in the competition, having already won it three times with Barcelona.
