The opposition alliance that aims to depose President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 has persisted in looking for a forum to accomplish its goal.

According to the DAILY POST, the coalition is anticipated to make a major statement this week, barring any last-minute changes.

Nonetheless, indications from the parties concerned suggest that two crucial issues—the format and platform—remain unresolved.

According to ZINGTIE, attendees at the Sunday meeting included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, former Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who sent a representative.

Others include former Cross River State Governor Mr. Donald Duke, former Information Minister Professor Jerry Gana, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, and a few northern stakeholders.

However, keep in mind that after representatives from Jigawa State interrupted the conference, it descended into chaos.

The conference, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel and called by the National Political Consultative Group, North, was abruptly halted, following a heated argument regarding representation for Jigawa State.

Some stakeholders supported merging into an established party, while others urged for a new platform.

In 2027, Umar Ardo, the convener of the League of Northern Democrats (LND), declared that the organization has decided to back the National Opposition Coalition Group.

However, the ongoing negotiations took a new turn when Ralphs Nwosu, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, stated with empathy that the ADC had been selected and agreed upon as the platform, bringing conflicting items into the mix.

Some coalition stakeholders are reportedly shocked by his remarks, which were followed by those of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, indicating that he would run on the LP platform.
