Victor Joseph, 30, was sentenced to prison by Delta State High Court 3 in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, on Friday for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl (name withheld).

According to ZINGTIE, the Court also postponed the case until August 19, 2025.

The thirty-year-old had previously admitted that he “loved” a seven-year-old girl (name withheld) and allegedly deceived and violated her.

After being severely beaten by his neighbors, he was quickly turned over to the police at Ugborikoko Division.

The culprit was found to have committed the crime in Okuboh Street, Effurun, in Delta State’s Uvwie Local Government Area.

According to a medical report, the suspect destroyed the young girl’s vaginal hymen.

Additionally, it was discovered that the suspect had reportedly defiled the young girl, wrapped her lips with a rag when her mother wasn’t around, and tricked her into moving into his apartment twice. He threatened to kill the girl in this final event if she ever told her parents.

Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo, the Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Human Rights, zealously pursued the matter to make sure the young girl received justice.
