Olabode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that the party is not a commercial company.
The announcement follows police’s Monday siege of the party’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat.
Prior to the larger caucus meeting, this meeting was scheduled.
The members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) were stopped by the police, who claimed to be following a “order from above,” according to former PDP National Secretary Umar Tsauri.
The party’s board of trustees has reportedly rescheduled its planned meeting to take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja, according to the ZINGTIE.
George responded to the development by stating that PDP is not a private company and that it resulted from a dispute between two individuals.
He said: “The PDP is not a private enterprise. You don’t resolve the crisis you are experiencing outside. It’s a disagreement between two people and we must sit down to resolve it.”
