President Donald Trump has stated that Cuba is “ready to fall” following the seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by US forces, stating that Havana can no longer rely on Venezuela for security and oil supplies.

Trump made the statements late Sunday while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, following Saturday’s operation in which US agents arrested Maduro and his wife on charges related to an alleged narco-terrorism conspiracy.

According to Trump, Maduro’s dismissal has undermined Cuba’s strategic position in the area because Venezuela can no longer provide financial and military support to its allies.

When asked if he was considering US action in Cuba, Trump responded, “I think it’s just going to fall. I don’t think we need any action. Looks like it’s going down. It’s going down for the count.”

His remarks come amid escalating regional reactions to Maduro’s detention, which has triggered protests and diplomatic tensions.

Cuban officials have accused the US of violating Venezuelan sovereignty and have called for pro-Caracas rallies.

US authorities have claimed that Cuban security forces played an important role in maintaining Maduro’s leadership.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Cuban operatives effectively controlled Venezuela’s domestic intelligence and security system, including Maduro’s personal protection.
