The All Progressives Congress, APC Osun State chapter has denied claims made by the African Democratic Congress, ADC that it intends to use the state’s ongoing Continuous Voter Registration to rig the 2026 governorship race. CVR, work out.

ZINGTIE recalls that the CVR exercise was launched by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, August 18, 2025, with online registration. On Monday, August 25, 2025, physical registration opened at all INEC offices around the state.

The APC called the ADC’s assertions “false and frivolous” and asserted that the party was trying to defend its impending defeat at the polls in a statement released on Saturday and signed by Kola Olabisi, its Director of Media and Information.

The Osun APC claims that the accusations are unfounded and stemmed from a fear of losing.

“The ADC is accusing the state APC of masterminding and perfecting the forthcoming governorship election rigging through the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.

“We understand the plight of the ADC for raising such unsubstantiated rigging allegations against the APC which was verifiably borne out of the fear of the imminent loss of the election,” the statement added.

The ADC was branded by the APC as an internally displaced party looking for reasons to justify yet another subpar election showing.

“The preposterous and cacophonous noise being made about the registration of voters by the ADC is attention-seeking in order to attract unmerited publicity,” the APC declared.

“The allegations of the ADC against the APC should be disregarded as it is within a realm of a mere fabrication skilfully concocted to create an issue which has refused to either sit or fly,” the party said.

The APC asserted that it was still the party to beat in the state and that defections from other political parties had bolstered its ranks, despite its insistence that it did not need to rig the election.

The party maintained that its members could fully participate in the registration process notwithstanding the ADC’s protest.

“We want to advise the ever jittery and constantly spooky ADC handlers that they should learn how to choose their fight and face the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) if at all they have any justified issues with the electoral umpire instead of engaging in a rigmarole and gibberish without any profitability in sight.

“There’s no amount of make-believe protest by the ADC members and their leaders that will deter our ever-loyal members and supporters to double up their efforts on the ongoing voters’ registration exercise,” it said.

Additionally, the APC emphasized that voter registration drives were legal and rejected the idea that it was in charge of organizing ADC members.

“If the ADC are waiting for us to mobilise for them for the voters’ registration exercise, they are making the greatest mistakes of their lives as they will wait in vain till eternity.

“Our check has shown that there’s no law that outlaws the mobilisation of people in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise,” the APC said.

The party also stated that the ADC’s charges were an admission of weakness while urging its members to register and get their voter cards.

“It is an admission of failure for a supposed political party to be crying blue murder when a fortified party like ours at all its levels is busy laying a constitutionally allowed foundation of the brightest showing in the incoming elections,” the statement said.
