The CVS Health Foundation has announced a significant investment in its healthy aging initiative, awarding $4 million in grants to four organizations over a period of five years.

Each recipient will receive $1 million to enhance healthcare access and resources for aging community members with brain, heart, and behavioral health conditions, as well as their caregivers.

The grant recipients include the Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement, which will utilize the funding to upgrade its Community Resource Hub. This enhancement will facilitate connections between seniors and essential services, ensuring they receive the support they need.

The Center for Better Aging at St. Bernard Hospital in Chicago will also benefit from the grant. The organization aims to improve its coordinated care model to address the high rates of chronic conditions prevalent in the South Side of Chicago.

In New York City, EngageWell will leverage the grant to make healthcare more agile and responsive to the needs of the aging population. Meanwhile, the Palm Health Foundation in Boynton Beach, Florida, will establish a Healthier Aging Initiative as part of its Healthier Boynton Beach program. This initiative will focus on supporting caregivers over 60 years old.

The grants are part of the CVS Health Foundation’s efforts to address the growing needs of the aging population.

“People over the age of 65 are enjoying longer, more active lives and make up the largest generation of older adults in U.S. history,” said Sheryl Burke, CVS Health senior vice president of corporate social responsibility and chief sustainability officer.

“We’re excited to work with each of these organizations that are making a significant impact by preparing and providing the healthcare and resources our communities need for the generational shift of aging Americans.
