According to Dangote Petroleum Refinery, customers purchasing five million litres or more are the only ones eligible for the N940 per litre diesel price reduction.
The explanation was provided in a statement on Tuesday by Head of Communication, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, who noted that customers purchasing one million or more units are eligible for a price of N970 per litre.
According to ZINGTIE, Dangote Refinery reduced the price of fuel for the third time, to N940 and N970 per litre, respectively.
After the corporation announced two price reductions previously, the cost of diesel was reduced from N1,600 to N1,000 per litre.
Recall that the West African oil and gas sector was impacted by Dangote Refinery’s entry into the Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) market.
The 650,000 barrels per day crude oil refinery was commissioned on May 22 of last year.
The facility hasn’t started selling fuel yet, though.
According to Standard & Poor’s Global Commodities, fuel sales at Dangote Refinery are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.
