Dangote Refinery slashes petrol price by N15 per litre; see details

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a further price reduction of N15 per litre for its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), bringing the new price in Lagos to N875 per litre. The refinery’s petrol will now retail for N885 per litre in the South West, N895 in the North West and North Central, and N905 in the South East, South South, and North East.

The company stated, “We urge all marketers to support President Bola Tinubu’s Nigeria First policy, which prioritises locally produced goods and services.” This latest reduction is part of the refinery’s cost-reduction strategy, following previous price cuts in February 2025 and April.

The refinery has also lowered prices for diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), enhancing affordability across sectors. Despite global crude oil market volatility, the company reiterated its commitment to price stability

“We are proud to make a substantial contribution to Nigeria’s energy security, foreign exchange savings, and overall economic resilience—aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the company stated.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery assured consumers of uninterrupted supply, citing sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and surplus capacity for export. This announcement came as the refinery’s founder, Aliko Dangote, was recognised on the inaugural 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list, alongside notable philanthropists like Michael Bloomberg and Melinda Gates.
