The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has welcomed Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s plan to directly distribute Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) across the country. The refinery’s initiative aims to tackle long-standing challenges in the downstream industry, including inconsistent supply, high transportation costs, and fluctuating market prices.
IPMAN Chairman, Mr. Tekena Ikpaki, commended the refinery’s efforts, stating, “We believe that such a multi-source supply model is essential to building a robust, competitive, and fair petroleum distribution ecosystem.” He emphasized the need for regulatory oversight to maintain a level playing field for all marketers.
The refinery has procured 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas-powered trucks to boost fuel supply, with the distribution program set to commence on August 15. Stakeholders, including a Shell retiree and a bus driver, have expressed optimism that the initiative will reduce fuel prices and improve transportation
Adebayo emphasized that OGITECH has zero tolerance for anti-social behavior, stating, “Any student found engaging in such behaviour will face disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct.” The police investigation is ongoing, and the management is working closely with them to ensure justice is served.
The incident has raised concerns about student behavior and the need for discipline in educational institutions. Will the students face the consequences of their actions, or will they get off scot-free?
