Former Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed has disclosed that he had a conversation with Peter Obi before to attending the LP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which was chaired by Julius Abure.

Baba-Ahmed stated on Tuesday night’s Arise TV that Obi had nothing against his attendance.

He said, “If His Excellency Peter Obi and I had been sworn in, there would have been things that would have fallen on me to do.

“Not too long ago, his younger brother’s property was smashed. He has been busy. He went to Daura for Buhari’s burial. Also, one governor was on his case not to visit his state.

“I need to understand that Peter Obi’s cup is full. And maybe he is shy to tell me to go and do these things. He knows everything I do. I carry him along.

“Peter Obi is a very easy person. He leaves you to use your judgement and initiative. He was fully in the picture.”

According to ZINGTIE, the LP is currently divided into two groups, one headed by Abure and the other by Nenadi Usman, the acting chairman, as a result of an internal dispute.

The majority of party members believe that Abure’s term as chairman is over, and the court has even ordered him to cease posing as the party’s national chairman.
