The Grammy Awards have come under fire from U.S. President, Donald Trump, who has labeled the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and has alleged that its host, Trevor Noah, made a false and defamatory remark regarding him.
Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social account that the Grammys were one of the “worst” award shows and asserted that CBS was “lucky” to no longer broadcast what he referred to as “garbage.”
He also criticized Noah’s hosting performance, making an unfavorable comparison to late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
Trump’s remarks came after Noah made a comment during the awards ceremony that mentioned both Trump and former President Bill Clinton in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump categorically rejected the idea that he had ever been to Epstein’s private island or had any connection to it.
Trump stated, “I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” emphasizing that the media had not previously accused him of this.
He stated that Noah’s remark was both wrong and damaging to one’s reputation.
The president cautioned that he was contemplating legal action against Noah, labeling him a “pathetic” and “talentless” master of ceremonies, and implied that his lawyers might seek a lawsuit for damages.
Trump pointed out that he had “worked out well” in previous legal disputes involving media figures.
