Chief Chris Biose, Chairman of the Delta Obedient Elders Council, has criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a lack of urgency in addressing the severe security challenges plaguing the country.

Biose, who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) in Edo State, made these remarks during an appearance on Arise TV.

He expressed deep concern over the alarming increase in deadly attacks by armed insurgents across Nigeria, asserting that citizens are being stripped of their fundamental right to life.

The elder statesman described the ongoing insecurity as “an institutional problem that is deep-rooted” and argued that the Tinubu administration has failed to prioritize the issue as it should.

He said, “The pathetic situation in Nigeria affecting human rights, particularly the right to life is that the authorities do not seem to recognize the enormity of the problems.

“I read a report recently where the Minister said there was no journalist in detention in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

“Meanwhile, we know very well that everyday, people are being killed in every part of the country and those killing the innocent ones are not being called to book.

“Lives of Nigerian citizens are being squeezed out by non state agents and even state agents.

“It is an institutional problem that is deep-rooted and the surgical operation that is required in the security services, particularly the police and the military to solve these problems is not being addressed by the current administration”.
