Julius Abure maintains his position as the National Chairman of the Labour Party notwithstanding the Supreme Court’s ruling on Friday about the leadership crisis that is roiling the party.
Abure in a post on his X handle on Friday shortly after the apex court judgement wrote: “Barr Julius Abure still Remains The National Chairman of Labour Party.”
According to ZINGTIE, the Apex Court overturned the Court of Appeal’s ruling in Abuja, which had previously acknowledged Abure as the LP National Chairman.
The Court of Appeal lacked the authority to name Abure the National Chairman of the LP, according to a five-member bench of the highest court.
But according to the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, LP is unwavering in its resolve to build a new Nigeria.
The Labour Party Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, and one other person filed an appeal, which the Supreme Court granted since it was deemed meritorious.
