Details of how Police Officer died in An Abuja hotel room after night with social media date

Lawal Ibrahim, a Kwali Division police inspector, was discovered dead in a hotel room in the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja.

Reports state that Ibrahim passed away after meeting a woman he supposedly met online.

Early last Thursday, the event took place at the Palasa Guest Inn. Three months after their first social media encounter, the inspector reportedly invited the woman, who was named as Maryam Abba, from Dutse, Jigawa State.

According to eyewitnesses, the couple had sex after they checked into the hotel on Wednesday night.

The two allegedly played another round at around 6 a.m. the next morning, at which point the inspector apparently started breathing irregularly and stopped responding.

Maryam tried to resuscitate him by dousing him with water after observing his peculiar state, but he did not respond. She informed Danlami Palasa, the hotel manager, who subsequently informed the Gwagwalada police division of the incident.

When police got on the scene, they discovered the inspector’s deceased body in the hotel room. After that, his remains were brought to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where medical professionals verified his passing.

The deceased’s police identity card, a phone charger, watermelon, and a substance thought to be an aphrodisiac were among the items that the authorities found in the room.

The circumstances surrounding Maryam’s death are being investigated, and she has been placed under arrest.

The incidence was verified to Daily Trust by a Gwagwalada division police source, who further stated that efforts are being made to determine the cause of death.
