Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known on social media as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that his petition against controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, has been approved for investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
This follows a recent controversy surrounding Blessing CEO’s claim that she is battling stage four cancer.
On March 25, 2026, Blessing CEO shared a heartfelt video on her Instagram, tearfully revealing that she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. In the video, she displayed signs of hair loss, which she attributed to the illness.
In the aftermath, Blessing CEO disclosed that she had started selling some of her personal belongings to fund her treatment.
However, the situation took a sharp turn when the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, denied any connection to a histology report circulating online that had been linked to Blessing CEO.
The association clarified that the document in question was allegedly altered from a legitimate medical report belonging to a different patient diagnosed with breast cancer.
ZINGTIE recalls that Blessing CEO had earlier shared this report online to support her claim while soliciting financial donations from the public.
After facing intense backlash and accusations of manipulating the report, Blessing CEO later retracted her statement.
In an interview during the ongoing controversy, she admitted, “I don’t have stage four cancer. That was a miscommunication.”
She also confirmed that the total amount raised through donations amounted to 13 million Naira.
Following the backlash, she deactivated her social media accounts.
In response to the situation, VeryDarkMan explained that he filed the petition after he personally donated money to Blessing CEO, believing her story.
In a video posted on his official Instagram on Tuesday, VDM said he felt compelled to help after watching the video of her shaving her hair.
“I believed her because she shaved her hair and I felt compassion. On that very day, I didn’t have anything left in my account, but I still transferred money to her,” he said.
He expressed disappointment, pointing out that many people are genuinely suffering from cancer and deserve empathy and support.
“There are a lot of people living with cancer. How can someone come out and joke with something like this?” he added.
VDM also confirmed that he had formally submitted a petition to the police regarding the matter.
“I have written a petition against Blessing CEO, and the Inspector General of Police has assigned it for investigation,” he said.
