After being mauled by a dog, 5-year-old Moriana Maruf suffered injuries that ultimately led to her death.

ZINGTIE learned that the little child was attacked by the dog on Sunday at approximately 7:04 a.m. in the Adagbada area of Apete, a suburb of Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo.

Our correspondent learned that Mrs. Eunice Kolade was the owner of the dog that mauled the girl.

According to information obtained by ZINGTIE on Tuesday, the girl was initially sent to a local private hospital but was subsequently directed to University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

Later, a report claimed that she perished in the process.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, Mr. Sunday, a local resident, killed the dog following the event.

According to an unnamed source, the dog mauled the young girl so severely that it was unrecognisable.

“The dog attacked the little girl beyond recognition. She was taken to a private hospital and was later referred to UCH. She did not survive it.”

When contacted on Wednesday, Adewale Osifeso, the state police command’s public relations officer, stated that the inquiry is still underway.

In a brief comment provided to ZINGTIE, Osifeso stated, “Investigation is ongoing, sir.”
