On Friday, the 6th, operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) apprehended Sabastine Odo Odam, a suspected notorious commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), along with Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Eha-Amufu and Umuhu within Enugu State’s Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.
Security analyst Zagazola revealed this via his X handle.
The post states that security sources disclosed the arrest was made after months of ongoing intelligence collection on the suspects’ activities. These arrests followed a number of violent assaults on police stations and murders that occurred from 2024 to 2026, all within Isi-Uzo LGA.
“Both men have confessed to being masterminds of a chain of attacks on police stations and carting away of weapons. The attacks include the February 26 killing of 11 labourers and that of five policemen between December 24, 2025, and January 26, 2026.
“The arrests represent a major success for the DSS in the fight against insecurity in the southeast and the country at large,” remarked the source.
Residents of Isi-Uzo LGA expressed their excitement upon hearing the news of the arrests. Many observed that the arrests will bring some peace back to the affected communities.
The source added that both suspects are currently in DSS custody and awaiting court arraignment.
