Faith Adekunle Charity Mission, a non-governmental organisation, has distributed food items to over 500 vulnerable Nigerians, including widows, orphans, and other less-privileged persons, in the Federal Capital Territory and its environs. The outreach, titled “Easter Giving to the Widows and Orphans”, was done in collaboration with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Overcomers Chapel in Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The food items distributed included bags of rice, yam, garri, cartons of macaroni, spaghetti, semovita, beverages, and condiments. According to the Chief Executive of Faith Adekunle Charity Mission, Adefunke Adekunle, the outreach is a deliberate program to put smiles on the faces of these special groups of Nigerians during festive periods
“Easter is a time of hope and renewal, and we recognise the profound responsibility we share to uplift the most vulnerable among us,” Adekunle said. “At Faith Adekunle Charity Mission, we are driven by this responsibility, and this year, we are focusing our efforts on providing essential support to orphans and widows who face increasing hardships due to rising food inflation in our nation.
Adekunle added, “This mission reflects our core belief: that the true measure of a society lies in how it cares for its most disadvantaged members. It is not only an act of charity but a commitment to building a culture of compassion and resilience.”
The beneficiaries were grateful for the kindness and generosity of the charity. A widow, Rose Usman, said, “I am deeply touched by the kind gesture during this Easter season. This support came at a time of great need and reminded me that even in difficult times, there is always kindness and hope.”
An orphan, Habiba Emmanuel, also expressed gratitude, saying, “I want to take a moment to thank Faith Adekunle Charity Mission for their generosity and compassion during this challenging period. This Easter, your thoughtful charity has been a beacon of hope for me. Your actions remind us of the goodness in humanity, and I am immensely grateful for your support.”
The charity’s efforts aim to provide succour to vulnerable members of society and promote a culture of compassion and resilience.
