The All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo State branch has expressed concern about a purported plot by PDP members to obstruct government operations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday.
Members of the PDP in the state have decided to hold a protest and interfere with operations at the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, or AGF, according to a statement issued by Jarret Tenebe, the chairman of the APC in Edo State.
The scheduled demonstration coincides with the ongoing hearing of the petition that the PDP and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, filed to contest the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo’s victory in the Edo State gubernatorial election.
The planned demonstration and disturbance at the AGF’s office, according to the APC, are intended to influence the Edo State governorship election tribunal.
Tenebe called for security forces, such as the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the police, to exercise vigilance and take the required actions to avert a possible collapse of law and order in the country’s capital.
Tenebe claims that the PDP and followers of Asue Ighodalo want to execute the “unlawful act” on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
The Edo APC chairman underlined that the party would not accept any attempts to undermine the legal system or disturb the peace, and that security services must take aggressive measures to stop the planned disruption.
“The security agencies should take this threat seriously and hold those responsible for this planned disruption accountable for their actions,” Tenebe added.
