Former Kaduna Central Senatorial District Senator Shehu Sani listed twelve issues that negatively impact education in Northern Nigeria, with insecurity ranking worst.

Senator Sani stated in a verified Facebook post on Monday that there are significant obstacles due to terrorism, banditry, and insecurity, as well as inadequate infrastructure.

According to him, “Cultural and religious barriers, low funding, poverty, teacher shortages, child labour, discrimination against girls, low access to technology, health challenges, and the increasing number of people living with disabilities, as well as the systemic retention of the street Almajiri system, neglect, misplacement, and mismanagement of resources by successive governments.”

He went on to say that these problems need immediate response.
